ReINNOVATE - Cyprus’s First Refugee-Focused Social Innovation Incubation Lab
ReINNOVATE is Cyprus’s first purpose-driven social innovation incubator for the creation of sustainable solutions to aid and support migrants, refugees and asylum-seekers. Organised by Project Phoenix, the program comprises a BOOTCAMP, a HACKATHON, and an intensive two-month MENTORING PROGRAM. It is currently scheduled to begin in late Spring 2020, with the most promising ideas to receive intensive mentoring and support for their launch in Fall 2020.
ReINNOVATE will invite young people from Cyprus’s leading academic institutions, professionals, and entrepreneurs to come together with migrants, refugees and asylum-seekers and collectively develop solutions for the benefit of the island and to support the humanitarian capabilities of the country. We hope that by organizing ReINNOVATE we can provide sustainable durable solutions to urgent problems that refugees face by taking a holistic and systems-thinking perspective that promotes integration.
We are partnering with CyprusInno and the Center for Social Innovation to launch this new initiative. Project Phoenix is looking for additional partners and sponsors to join us in this effort to create holistic solutions that will provide dignity and access to our fellow human beings. Specifically we seek: University Partners in Nicosia and Limassol; Government Bodies and Organisations; Civil Society Groups; Research Organisations; Humanitarian and Development Organisations; International Organisations; Embassies; Corporate Partners and Prize Sponsors; Innovation Actors and Media Partners The expected dates for the events are as follows:
BOOTCAMP - May 2020
HACKATHON - June 2020
MENTORING - June to August 2020
